Certified Mental Performance Coach · UK
Workplace Performance Specialist

Elle’ Nelson is a former professional soccer player and Certified Mental Performance Coach with a proven track record in the professional game, including serving as Head of Mental Performance at Columbus Crew in MLS and working in men’s and women’s football across Europe.
For the past decade, she has passionately helped organisations translate practical elite-sport thinking into everyday leadership and performance — shaping clearer decisions under pressure, better communication, and cultures where people can consistently perform at their highest level, individually and collectively.
Trusted across corporate, healthcare, and elite performance environments
From boardrooms to changing rooms — elite sport, global organisations, and everything in between.
§ 01 — Outcomes
The pressure may look different from elite sport, but the human demands are often the same. People still need to think clearly, manage emotion, communicate under stress, and lead others when performance matters.
Performance under pressure — staying composed and effective when the stakes are high.
Clear decision-making — better judgement when information is incomplete and pressure is real.
Emotional regulation — managing reactions, staying steady, and responding well under stress.
Communication & difficult conversations — clarity, trust, and honesty in the moments that matter.
Leadership presence & influence — how leaders show up, regulate themselves, and affect the room.
Team trust & psychological safety — openness, accountability, and stronger collaboration.
Resilience & adaptability — operating through ongoing change without losing alignment.
§ 02 — Engagements
Nothing here is packaged. Every engagement is bespoke — shaped around your people, your context, and the outcomes you actually need. The formats below are starting points, not menus.
For conferences, leadership summits, and company all-hands — shaped around your theme and the pressures your audience is actually carrying.
For senior teams defining how the organisation performs, communicates, and holds standards under pressure.
Offsite sessions built around your team's real challenges — trust, decision-making, communication, and collective focus.
Interactive and practical: pressure, emotional regulation, focus, and recovery — tools people can use the next morning.
Difficult conversations, feedback, and pressure moments — the human skills managers rarely get taught but need every week.
Building the mental habits — self-awareness, communication, resilience — that shape a strong long career.
Multi-touchpoint programmes for teams operating under sustained pressure, designed with your L&D team.
Every session is designed with you — from a single keynote to a multi-touchpoint programme across a leadership population.
§ 03 — How we work
From first conversation to post-session debrief — every step is designed to make the work land where it matters.
Step 01
We start with a conversation about your people, your context, and the challenges you want to address — leadership under pressure, communication, team culture, decision-making, or performance in a high-stakes environment.
Step 02
I shape a session around your audience and goals. Whether it's a keynote, workshop, away day, or leadership session, the content is tailored to your organisation rather than delivered as a generic off-the-shelf talk.
Step 03
Before the session, we align on the details that make it land — audience profile, tone, outcomes, logistics, and any language, examples, or themes that should be woven in.
Step 04
A practical, engaging experience that helps people think differently, reflect honestly, and leave with tools they can use under real pressure.
Step 05
Afterwards, we review what landed, what your team is taking away, and whether there's value in follow-up support, deeper workshops, or further leadership development.
§ 04 — Who I work with
From boardrooms to team meetings to early-career cohorts — the work is calibrated to the demands your people are actually navigating.
Leading clearly and calmly through pressure, uncertainty, and change.
Carrying the emotional load of teams — stronger in communication, decisions, and difficult conversations.
Sustaining standards, trust, and execution when the stakes are high.
Early-career programmes building self-awareness, pressure skills, communication, and leadership from the start.
§ 05 — Why Elle

§ 06 — Speaking & Workshops
My work is designed to be relevant, applied, and immediately useful. Whether I’m in front of a senior leadership team, a room of managers, or an early-careers cohort, I tailor each session to the pressures, language, and challenges of the people actually in the room.
Reframe how people think about pressure and performance.
Build practical skills in real time.
Focused on trust, communication, and emotional regulation.
Align content to your audience and organisational goals.
§ 07 — Proof
Elle brought a rare mix of credibility, warmth, and practical insight. The session gave our leaders language and tools they could use immediately.
This was not a generic motivational talk. It was grounded, intelligent, and directly relevant to the pressures our teams are facing.
Elle helped our group think differently about trust, pressure, and communication in a way that actually changed the conversation afterwards.

§ 08 — About

Elle’ Nelson is a certified mental performance coach whose work is rooted in elite sport. As a former professional footballer, she has spent years inside the environments she now teaches from — where pressure is constant, emotion is high, scrutiny is real, and the difference between a team that holds together and one that comes apart is measured in moments.
Elle’ has worked alongside athletes, coaches, and teams at the top of professional sport, including as Head of Mental Performance for the Columbus Crew in Major League Soccer. She has also supported organisations across corporate, healthcare, financial, and professional services — translating the thinking behind high-performance sport into leadership, culture, and people development.
Her approach combines credibility with genuine connection. She brings the rigour of performance psychology, the practical insight of someone who has been in the arena, and the communication skills to make it land in a boardroom as well as a changing room. The context may change from sport to business, but the human demands remain the same.
Clients consistently describe the work as practical, honest, and genuinely enjoyable to experience. Elle’ builds real relationships with the people she works with, and she brings that same care into every engagement.
